On Tournament Day, we want to make sure that everyone is safe and secure so that we have a great time for all. The following information pertains to safety and security at the tournament, and all participants and guests should review. Coaches are encouraged to keep a copy of this information close at hand in case there are any emergencies.
SAFETY
In the event of a medical emergency, dial 911 and provide your location to the operator: “The school’s address is 2900 Sutton Road in Vienna, VA, zip code 22181, and we are at Door ___.”
If minor first aid is needed, a kit will be located at Volunteer/Team Check-In near Door 6 in the Auditorium/Main Gym lobby. Contact any of the Tournament officials in a black shirt for additional help.
If you need to take anyone to an urgent care facility, the closest one is INOVA Urgent Care at 100 Maple Avenue East, Vienna, VA, 22180 (Phone: 703-938-5300).
Directions: Turn Left on Sutton Road (travel .6 miles). Turn Right on Chain Bridge Road, which becomes Maple Avenue (travel 1.3 miles). INOVA Urgent Care is located on the left.
There are 5 Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in the school, located outside the Auditorium (nearest to Door 6), between the Aux Gym and Cafeteria (Door 11), outside the Main Office (Door 1), outside room 128 (between Doors 3 and 4), and upstairs outside room 228 (between Doors 3 and 4).
Handicapped parking is available near Door 1.
SECURITY
Neither NoVA North Odyssey of the Mind nor the Fairfax County Public School system is responsible for any lost or stolen items. You should safeguard all valuable items at all times. You should ensure that a parent is closely watching all valuable items while your team and guests are in the school. If you keep valuable items in your car, they should be out of view.
If there is any other concern for safety, contact any of the tournament officials in a black shirt to help you locate the Tournament Directors or Regional Directors.
