Training for new and experienced coaches will be offered in six sessions starting with an Overview for new coaches and assistant coaches on October 31 and continuing with interactive workshops on coaching skills through November 14. Register for all of the sessions or just the sessions you need.
The Region 9 Board of Directors is again offering a series of training classes for coaches, assistant coaches, and parents who are interested in helping their children get the most out of their involvement with Odyssey of the Mind this year.
Adults who are new to Odyssey of the Mind – both coaches and team parents – are encouraged to attend the Overview where the program will be described in detail, coaches’ and parents’ responsibilities will be discussed, and questions will be answered.
The Coaching Primary session on Saturday November 10, builds on the overview to address issues pertaining specifically to primary teams and working with young children.
Interactive workshops, Nov 5, 10, 12, and 14, are suitable for new coaches and also for experienced coaches who want to improve their ability to support their teams in thinking more creatively and scoring well in the style and spontaneous competitions.
